Ten outstanding residents were selected as 2018 Education Champions - the 7th year in a row for this community initiative.
Six women and four men representing Brantford, Brant County, Haldimand County, Norfolk County and Six Nations had their stories published here and by the Brantford Expositor and Simcoe Reformer, both in their print and online editions.
As in the past, there were Champions who chose to go back to school to make a better life for themselves and their families, often wanting to be good role models for their children. There are also Champions who overcame many obstacles to continue their education.
But there are also examples of Champions who retrained for new careers, using the Ontario government's Second Career program. In one case, a Champion chose to follow his dream to start their own business.
These are our Education WORKS Champions for 2018
